Film Idea #2
My new film will be about me and my basketball dreams. I will be shooting clips in my neighborhood where it isn't wise to go to a basketball court by yourself. That will be the story in my film. How it isn't easy pursuing ones dreams in a dangerous environment.
Chapter 3 & 4
This will be on chapters 3 and 4. There are more then one form of reality films, there's ones that are actually real and there're theHollywood made ones that are acted out. it's reality it's just acted out. there are showing a story by having actors playing the part of thepeople in real life. no a days people are able to enhance images thataren't actually there, computers and technology are so developed that you can add so much stuff to your films which a can make a documentary seem fake. recording human behavior isn't the easies thing to do, you have to capture seems without having anything scripted and you have to not abuse your novice stance. when recording a person behavior you don't want to record there personality. your recording there behavior and how they act. people don't always act the same, people act differently in different situations. There are many ways to film people in their normal ways and it is not always easy.
Chapter 2
In the beginning in Hollywood everyone had to make the perfect scene. everything had to be perfect in the movie and actors had to hit the mark. there soon became rules that i film maker had to go by, if itwasn't perfect then they had to re shoot the film or they had to just not shoot it at all. With all these rules people wanted more freedom. documentary films gave you the freedom of filming because they were shoot with real life and had real life situations. documentary films has two different approaches to filming, one is historical and the other is anthropological. anthropological is about the people and in there view of life. historical is more about history and events that took place.
Making Documentary Films
The book "Making Documentary Films and Reality Videos" by Barry Hampe explains how to make a good Documentary Film. In the first chapter it explains some main topics, i will talk about some of them. it starts out saying how people think that making a Documentary Film looks and sounds like a really easy thing to do. how hard can it be to follow someone around? but it explains how it isn't as easy as it looks because there's a lot more to a Documentary Film then just following someone around. you have to actually edit films and there's so much more to it then just following someone around hoping for something interesting to happen. It also says that it isn't all about the camera. You have to be the one to capture a good clip, just because you have a better camera doesn't mean your film will be better then someone who doesn't have as good as a camera then yours, its all about how you use the Carma. Interesting things just don't happen it takes time for making a Documentary Film.

Grizzly Man

After watching the documentary Grizzly Man, I learned what the basics of documentary film making are. I learned that the camera is not supposed to be thought about. Its supposed to make the viewer seem like they were actually witnessing the scene; good camera work is making the viewer forget that its just video footage. I also learned that commentary is a very important part of documentaries apart from the audio of the raw video.
In the case of Grizzly Man, I think that Timothy Treadwell was just in his intentions and seeing how passionate he was about those bears I think he died the way he would have like to.

Defintion of Documentary Film
Definition of Documentary (Wikipedia)
Documentary film is a broad category of visual expressions that is based on the attempt, in one fashion or another, to "document" reality. Although "documentary film" originally referred to movies shot on film stock, it has subsequently expanded to include video and digital productions that can be either direct-to-video or made for a television series. Documentary, as it applies here, works to identify a "filmmaking practice, a cinematic tradition, and mode of audience reception" that is continually evolving and is without clear boundaries
